Jeremy Patterson

Jeremy Patterson – Bass and Background Vocals Sunset Junkies

Bass and Background Vocals

Jeremy’s musical journey started at the age of 5 when he started to play guitar. He worked at the acoustic guitar for a couple of years before picking up a bass. It was that moment he realized that this was the instrument of his dreams.

Jeremy has played in numerous bands through the years, and got more serious after meeting former Sunset Junkie Keith Mason. Jeremy’s band experience includes Stone Halo and the Full-Blooded Hooligans. While Patterson is an accomplished musician and writer, he is also the main sound engineer, producer, background vocalist, and equipment technician.

Jeremy plays a MusicMan Stingray 5H bass and runs a Gallien-Kruger 800B with a Korg DT1000 tuner into an SHS410 cab. His pedals include MXR Fuzz, MXR Envelope and MXR Chorus with a Line 6 Wireless.

Five things to know about me

My dream instrument:

I currently play my dream instrument: a MusicMan Stingray 5H. But I would love to get my hands on the new Stingray neck-thru 5HH.

Song that has influenced me the most:

Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child.” I love how the basslines move up and down the register while keeping such great time.

My dream venue to play at:

If I had to pick just one, I would want to play at Red Rocks in Colorado. The design of this venue with the natural acoustics makes it the top of my list.

The rock and roll artist I’d love to meet the most:

My number one would be Cliff Burton of Metallica. I love his styles and approach to writing basslines; if only he was still with us. John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin, and Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters are also influences.

First song I learned to play:

“Sweet Emotion” from Aerosmith.
